Advanced OB
Westchester Medical Center offers a full spectrum of advanced obstetric care to women throughout the WMCHealth Network. From preconception and pregnancy to labor and delivery and postpartum care, our team of providers is available to care for your every need. We specialize in high-risk and complex cases, partnering with specialists throughout OB-GYN and other fields in providing the quality care you expect. Learn more.

Breast Imaging
The Breast Center imaging suite at Westchester Medical Center features an advanced 3D mammography and tomosynthesis unit, which produces high quality 3D images that decrease the need for additional screenings and increase accuracy in cancer detection. Breast ultrasound, breast MRI, breast interventions, and stereotactic and MRI-guided breast biopsies are also done at this facility. Breast Oncology
The breast cancer teams collaborate to provide advanced treatment options and advanced technology needed for accurate screening and diagnosis of breast disease. An experienced team of radiologists and surgical, medical, and radiation oncologists, together with physician assistants, oncology-trained nurses, therapists and social workers, are dedicated to delivering personalized, high-quality care to breast cancer patients.

Our Tumor Board, part of the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer accreditation, provides regular multidisciplinary reviews of all cancer cases to determine the best treatment plan and ensure coordinated care. The board includes surgical, medical, and radiation oncologists, as well as specialists from radiology, pathology, clinical nutrition, oncology support, oncology nursing, patient navigation, quality and safety. Certified cancer registrars document all patient histories, diagnoses, treatments and status of care. Our integrated breast practice allows multispecialty cancer treatment by a team of experts to provide multidisciplinary, personalized care. The center is widely recognized for its personalized and integrative approach to cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Breast Surgery
The Department of Surgery, Westchester Medical Center, is the primary referral facility for regional hospitals and a lifeline for more than 2.4 million people in the Hudson Valley. The surgical team specializes in breast procedures including sentinel lymph node biopsy, partial mastectomy, total mastectomy, modified radical mastectomy, radical mastectomy, skin sparing mastectomy, and nipple sparing mastectomy. Plastic and reconstructive surgery is offered for cancer and prophylactic surgeries to include oncoplastic surgery, tissue expander and implant placement, TRAM (Transverse Rectus Abdominis Myocutaneous) flap technique, LATIS (Latissimus Dorsi) flap technique, and DIEP (Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforators) flap technique. 

Urogynecology and Female Pelvic Medicine
Female pelvic medicine providers are specially-trained gynecologists who provide specialty consultation and management of the full spectrum of Female Pelvic Floor Disorders including pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, incomplete bladder emptying, accidental bowel leakage, difficult defecation, painful bladder syndrome, recurrent urinary tract infections, fistula and urethral diverticulum. Gynecologic Oncology
The Division of Gynecologic Oncology and Robotic Surgery has a simple mission: provide you and your loved ones with comprehensive, compassionate and personal gynecologic oncology and complex pelvic surgical care. Care is available for women with ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal cancers; endometrial / uterine cancer; cervical cancer; vaginal / vulvar cancer; and gestational trophoblastic disease. Comprehensive Gynecologic Care
For many women, their relationship with their gynecologist is a lasting one which often begins with their first annual pelvic exam in late adolescence or early adulthood and continues throughout their child-bearing and menopausal years.

Our specialists strive to be your trusted partner in healthcare by providing personal and customized care that addresses your unique needs during every stage of life. We provide routine annual exams, offer birth control advice and preconception counseling, and see you through each pregnancy from conception to birth and aftercare. We ensure you stay healthy by advising you on and providing regular screenings such as mammograms and colonoscopies as you grow older.

Gynecology - Adolescent GYN
Providers throughout the Westchester Medical Center Health Network provide gynecologic care specially tailored to the needs of adolescents. Teens and young adults with gynecologic cancer have access to extensive resources and support through the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Program at WMC. This program helps young women manage life issues, including school or work, relationships, finances, and health concerns involving sexuality and fertility.

Maternal-Fetal Medicine (Perinatology)
Maternal-fetal medicine specialists provide advanced-level care for expectant mothers with prior medical conditions such as diabetes and heart disease; those who have health problems resulting from pregnancy, such as gestational diabetes or preeclampsia; and healthy mothers carrying multiple fetuses or those who have experienced prior preterm labor or delivery, recurrent miscarriages or premature rupture of the membranes. Maternal-fetal specialists also coordinate any specialized neonatal services a baby may require prior to or shortly after birth, such as heart surgery. Minimally Invasive/Robotic Advanced Gynecologic Surgery
The Westchester Medical Center Health Network offers the most advanced minimally invasive approach to gynecologic surgical care in the region. Many procedures are available in-office at convenient practice locations throughout the area. Physicians are uniquely trained to provide specialty consultation and management of fibroids, chronic pelvic pain, adenomyosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, female sexual dysfunction, benign adnexal pathology, endometriosis, painful bladder syndrome/interstitial cystitis, myofascial pain and cervical dysplasia. Through the WMCHealth Network women have access to gynecologic reconstructive and plastic surgeons. These specialists restore both function and appearance through laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgical procedures. Reconstructive procedures play a vital role in treating issues such as uterine prolapse, pelvic organ prolapse, fetal incontinence, urinary incontinence, and other conditions. 

Obstetrics

Board-certified obstetricians offer comprehensive services in prenatal care, obstetric care, labor and delivery, and high-risk pregnancy. 

Westchester Medical Center is home to an Obstetric Emergency Department. Emergency care is also available in Poughkeepsie at MidHudson Regional Hospital with transfer to WMC.

Reproductive Genetics
The expert team at Westchester Medical Center consists of a highly experienced obstetrician-geneticist and genetic counselor who will work closely with you and your obstetrician-gynecologist, as well as neonatologists, reproductive endocrinologists, and other specialists as needed to manage your healthcare. Genetic counselors provide evaluation, risk-assessment, and information as well as guidance and support as you make informed decisions about genetic testing. 

At Westchester Medical Center, women have access to comprehensive consultations including individual evaluation, genetic counseling, and testing before, during, and after pregnancy. Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
