Dr. Chandy is Professor of Medicine and Neurology at Westchester Medical Center, having joined the faculty of the division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine in 1999. He is the Director of the 17-bed Neurosciences ICU which is the largest ICU at Westchester Medical Center. Since 2004, he has been the Director of the Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship program which is the second largest fellowship program at New York Medical College. He has been nominated to Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) and is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He is currently the President of the New York State Thoracic Society. He has received the “Outstanding Teacher” award from the Department of Medicine every year since he joined the faculty 18 years ago. Dr. Chandy sees critically ill patients in the Neurosciences and Medical Intensive Care Unit, inpatients as a Pulmonary Medicine consultant and outpatients as part of an ambulatory Pulmonary Medicine practice.
